CLEAR EXPECTATIONS. FROM INSTALLATION TO FOLLOW-UP.

Fence & gate warranty.

New fences and gates include one year of workmanship coverage. If something needs attention, tell us what happened—we’ll review the issue and explain the next step.

How to request warranty service

  1. Submit the claim in writing by email within the applicable warranty period.
  2. Describe the issue and include photos when applicable. Including the project address, invoice or quote reference, and installation date helps us locate your records.
  3. Give Fence Fanatics reasonable access and an opportunity to inspect before non-emergency repairs by others. For an immediate safety hazard or active damage, take reasonable protective measures and document the condition; do not delay necessary emergency action while waiting for inspection.

Email a warranty request ↗

You may call (469) 607-0505 with questions. Email is the submission method for service under this express warranty; it does not replace any legally required notice method for a statutory claim or lawsuit. Inspection helps determine whether the concern falls within express coverage. For covered workmanship defects, Fence Fanatics provides repair or correction as stated in the applicable warranty. This summary does not exclude remedies available under applicable law. The one-year express coverage period is not a one-year deadline to file a lawsuit.

One-year workmanship coverage

Newly installed fences and gates carry a one-year workmanship warranty from the installation date. The contract describes this coverage as gates opening and closing and fence posts not leaning more than 5 degrees from plumb. Coverage is subject to the conditions and exclusions in your project agreement.

This is a summary of the Fence Fanatics master agreement supplied by the company. Your applicable signed agreement and approved quote govern the project. The fence and gate warranty terms take priority over general warranty language. Limitations apply only to the extent permitted by Texas law and do not exclude nonwaivable statutory rights or remedies.

What to expect from wood and finishes

Wood is a natural material. Cracking, checking, splitting, warping, bowing, twisting, shrinkage, swelling, wane, knots, and changes in color can occur with aging and exposure. Normal changes caused by aging and exposure, including natural cracking, are excluded from the express wood-material coverage. Termite infestation is also excluded from that coverage. These exclusions do not excuse supplying materials different from the approved specification or eliminate rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

Wood color can vary even within a board. New wood and stain will not necessarily match an older fence, and staining does not include color matching. Materials are supplied as specified in the quote; sanding and pre-staining are not included unless stated.

Gate operators and access control

Manufacturer warranty coverage is separate from the fence and gate workmanship warranty. Ask for the warranty information for the specific operator, entry device, or accessory in your proposal.

  • For a manufacturer-covered replacement part, the client pays Contractor’s replacement labor after the first 30 days.
  • For a part that is not manufacturer-covered, both the part and replacement labor are chargeable. If Contractor is notified during the initial 30-day period described in the agreement, the client pays for the part only.
  • Material warranties cover materials only; replacement or repair labor is not included except as expressly provided in the agreement.

Manufacturer coverage and any proposed service charges will be reviewed before paid work is authorized. These parts-and-labor terms do not remove responsibility for covered installation defects or override rights under applicable law.

Exclusions and conditions

Fence material coverage excludes damage from excessive force, impact, cutting, vandalism, neglect, corrosive substances, and deterioration in harsh industrial, coastal, or marine environments. Damage caused by abuse or neglect is excluded from the stated material coverage. Rust, paint, stain, and T-post systems are excluded from the express coverage summarized here. An exclusion does not automatically cancel coverage for an unrelated defect.

Owner-requested changes to construction means or methods require review and a signed change order. Any proposed effect on express warranty coverage must identify the affected work and be explained in writing before approval. A change does not automatically void every warranty; unrelated coverage and rights that cannot lawfully be waived remain unaffected.

Before installation
  • Identify the property boundaries and provide a survey needed for permitting. Obtain required HOA approval.
  • Clear two feet of workspace along fence lines, secure pets, and arrange necessary site and neighboring-property access.
  • Arrange and pay for identification and marking of private underground utilities before work begins. Provide available plans and disclose known or suspected buried items; see the underground-utilities expectations below.
  • Review gate locations, height, materials, finishes, and any site-restoration needs in the written quote.

Fence and gate gaps can occur where the ground is uneven. Grading, filling these gaps, landscape restoration, excavation spoil removal, and removal of old concrete footings are not included unless stated in the project scope. Irrigation repairs, relocation, and underground restoration are not included unless expressly stated in the approved written scope. No complimentary irrigation-line or sprinkler-head repair allowance is included. Excluded scope does not determine legal responsibility for damage caused during the work.

Underground utilities and concealed conditions

Fence Fanatics requests Texas811 notification before excavation as required. Texas811 notifies participating utility operators; those operators or their locators mark the facilities they own or maintain. This is not a complete survey of everything underground. Utility-owned facilities may extend onto private property, while customer-owned lines beyond a meter or service point generally require a separate private locate.

Private and internal property lines are not located through the standard Texas811 utility-member response. Examples include irrigation and sprinkler piping, landscape lighting, invisible pet fences, pool equipment lines, septic systems, private water and sewer lines, and electric or gas lines serving detached structures. The client must arrange and pay for appropriate private locating and disclose known or suspected underground improvements before construction.

Markings and records may be inaccurate or incomplete and do not guarantee depth, exact position, or the absence of additional buried items. Missing markings do not mean an area is clear. Unresolved responses, conflicting markings, or suspected unmarked utilities must be addressed before affected excavation proceeds. Required safe-excavation practices still apply.

Private locating, utility repair, replacement, relocation, and related restoration are excluded unless expressly included in the approved written scope. There is no allowance for free irrigation-line or sprinkler-head repairs. Additional authorized work requires a signed change order and may affect pricing and scheduling.

To the extent permitted by Texas law and the applicable project agreement, Fence Fanatics does not assume responsibility for damage arising from concealed, undisclosed, unmarked, or incorrectly marked underground items outside its control. These scope exclusions are not a blanket release for damage caused by Fence Fanatics’ negligence or failure to follow applicable excavation requirements. Responsibility for damage depends on its cause, the applicable agreement, and law; it is not automatically assigned to the client simply because a line was unmarked. Your signed agreement governs responsibility for a particular project; this website does not amend an existing agreement.

Scope, scheduling, and changes

The approved quote defines the work and materials included. Additional work requires a signed change order before it begins. Deposits, payment milestones, and final payment requirements are set out in the project agreement. Weather, material availability, permits, approvals, and site access can change the schedule.
